Our Community

We are a diverse group of people committed to sharing the love of Jesus.  We hold to the Lutheran expression of the Christian faith with an emphasis on God’s grace and love for all people.  We are a caring, open community of believers, patiently supporting each other’s journey of faith.

The community, the body of Christ, is nourished each time we celebrate Holy Communion.  Holy Communion is celebrated on most Sundays of the month.  Worship begins at 10.00am, though the time may vary on special occasions.

Beside gathering as a community for worship, we also gather in small groups to build bonds of friendship and encourage one another in the faith.  Our small groups include floral group, friendship groups, grief support group, men’s breakfast, women’s fellowship, Coffee and Chat, and prayer group.  Enquirers and new members are welcome to any of these groups.  Phone 0488 179 353 to enquire about times and locations.

The body of Christ grows as people, young or old, are baptised.  We welcome the presence of young parents with their young children, as we believe that Christ works a miracle through baptism in which age has no relevance.  Baptism is preceded by instruction in the meaning of baptism, so that parents and god-parents are made aware of the gift and responsibilities surrounding this God-given sacrament.

Sickness, sorrow and pain visit everybody at some stage or another, the Christian no less.  Our Pastoral Care team are on call to attend to the spiritual needs of people in distress, and can refer people for professional help if needed.  Phone 0488 179 353 to make a connection.

We praise God for calling us into His kingdom, His community, and the privilege of supporting one another in His name.

A Safe Place

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church is committed to providing a child safe environment where children and young people are safe, feel safe and have a voice. Hampstead accept and affirms the LCA Standards of Ethical Behaviour   and LCA Child Protection Policy, regarding them as standards and policies of our congregation. Hampstead accepts and abides by the Government of SA Child Protection legislation and standards and our own Child Safety Policy reflects these standards.

CHILD SAFE ENVIRONMENTS – PARENT and CAREGIVER INFORMATION

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Hampstead is committed to the safety and wellbeing of children and young people. As part of this commitment, we have a duty to ensure that all clergy, congregation members, employees and volunteers are aware of their legal obligations as mandated notifiers and are equipped with the resources they need to fulfil this responsibility.

We understand that parents/caregivers place a lot of trust in church personnel when they send their child to a church activity. We believe that parents should be able to be confident that their child will be safe and happy when participating in church activities.

We take several steps to ensure the safety and wellbeing of your child during church activities. All clergy, employees and volunteers have Working With Children Checks and LCA Safe Church training, and we endeavour to ensure anyone who works or volunteers directly with children or young people has received relevant training to help them carry out their role effectively and support the safety and wellbeing of children and young people. In addition, we have developed LCA Standards of Ethical behaviour for those working or volunteering with children and young people and we encourage parents and children/young people to be familiar with these guidelines so they know what to expect of us.

You can obtain a copy of the ‘LCA Standards of Ethical behaviour’ from the LCA website at LCA Standards of Ethical Behaviour – Lutheran Church of Australia.

If you feel that any of these guidelines have been breached or have other concerns about the way church personnel have interacted with your child, please do not hesitate to contact your Pastor, the Congregation Chairperson or the LCA Professional Standards Unit via psd@lca.org.au or 08 8267 7300 for support and to have your concern addressed.

MANDATORY REPORTING

• a child/young person tells you he or she knows someone who has been harmed (a child/young person could possibly be referring to himself or herself); or
• someone else (perhaps a relative, friend, neighbour or sibling of the child/young person) who is in a position to provide reliable information, tells you.

Where you form this suspicion on reasonable grounds, your legal obligation is to phone the;

Child Abuse Report Line (CARL) on 13 14 78
